Things must be done for the benefit of this person who needs your help and trusts you. The writing puts into words some of the funny, sad and touching things she experienced. ARE YOU A NONPROFIT SEEKING FUNDS?
Changes to the Interfaith Social Action Council Grant Process
The Interfaith Social Action Council (ISAC) has awarded thousands of dollars in grants each year to South Shore service organizations with an approved IRS 501c3, c19 designation or a not-for-profit school or church. We are reorganizing our Fall/Winter grant cycles into an annual grant cycle, allowing us to match our fund distribution with our fiscal year which runs 4/1 – 3/30. We believe that the certainty of available funds will allow us to increase our yearly grant dollar distributions. Grant applications will be accepted starting December 1st through midnight, January 15th. Applicants may be requested for an in person interview between January 16th and February 28th. During the month of March, the Grant Committee will discuss all grants and make recommendations to the ISAC Board for approval. The entire ISAC Council will vote on the grants at the Council meeting held in the third week of March. Applicants will be notified after the voting, with grant check distribution to be scheduled in early April. Other changes to the grant process include that a copy of the official IRS tax status be presented as part of the application. The Grant Committee will also be offering an opportunity to schedule appointments to answer questions about the grant forms and process. Requests for appointments may be made by email to isacofscc@gmail.com. One thing that has not changed is the requirement that a final report on any previous ISAC grant must be filed prior to submitting a new grant request. Updated grant application forms can be found on the ISAC website: www.interfaithcouncilscc.com under the Grants tab.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEEDS YOU!
Reddick Elementary School
Many of the teachers at Reddick Elementary School (RES) need supplies for their classrooms, which school districts do not provide. Since some students cannot afford to purchase such supplies, teachers pay for the supplies they need, out of their own pockets. As teachers are often poorly paid, many, must choose between buying products for their classrooms—or for their own households, especially during these challenging Covid times. Teachers and their classrooms need supplies on an ongoing basis, regardless of school projects or the generosity of relatives and friends. Individuals, organizations, and/or companies can directly supply a classroom with items that teachers and students need daily: • paper. • crayons • markers. • hand- sanitizer. • Wipes • Snack • folders • Erasers • Composition notebooks • reading books for the school library. Or, items which are part of special projects or experiences teachers want to provide for their students. You can make a difference and help our RES teachers from your office or home. Here are the simple steps to buy these items online and have them shipped directly to the teachers at Reddick Elementary School.
1.Click on the following link which wil take you directly to the RES teachers - https://www.classroomgiving.org/florida/wimauma
2.Select a teacher to view their list of requested items.
3.Select and purchase the items which will then be sent directly to the Teacher at RES. You need to enter the address to the school as follows: 325 W. Lake Drive, Wimauma, FL 33598 - Phone #: 813 634-0809 - www.classroomgiving.org

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Sun City Center Meals on Wheels Needs Volunteers
How can you make a difference to your neighbors in Sun City Center? SCC Meals on Wheels is an important community service which provides meals to those that need them. During the COVID 19 pandemic it is especially crucial since so many residents are not able to leave their homes. In some cases this is the only meal they have daily. Meals on Wheels was started in 1973 by GFWC SCC Woman’s Club. It eventually became the joint responsibility of 3 organizations with Woman’s Club handling the volunteers and delivery, Samaritan Services providing information, taking orders and collecting money, and South Bay Hospital preparing the meals and packaging for distribution. If you want to order meals, please call Samaritan Services at 813-634-9283 and they will help you get started. Every month a different local church or organization volunteers to deliver the meals daily. This is such a rewarding opportunity and needed service for all of us in giving back to the community. Please ask your organization or group to volunteer to help, contact Susan Royal at royalsusan2@gmail.com or 813-404-4794 for more information.
