The first meets 8:00 - 8:45, led by an instructor - for breathing, stretching, strengthening and core work. Bring your own mat, optional light weights and water to stay hydrated as you move through a whole body workout in the spacious Community Hall on South Pebble Beach. Afterwards, you may stay for a second class 8:45- 9:30 a.m., led by another instructor who helps you gently raise the heart rate and safely move to upbeat music. Current members of the SCC Community Association may attend, bringing a badge with a current sticker. Since we are resuming classes half way through the year, the cost is just $8 for all the classes you wish to take! This ministry provides fellowship and stimulation for people who have memory loss due to Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, or stroke. Trained professionals and volunteers provide supervision, lead activities, and serve a nutritious lunch. Participants may choose to come one or two days depending on availability, to socialize with others while enjoying a variety of stimulating activities such as music and dance, exercise, bible study, arts and crafts, and service projects. 1:00 p.m. - LATIN FITNESS DANCE CLUB - Meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Dance Studio inside the Atrium. is a fun, aerobic style exercise class that works your total body. We dance to Latin and other upbeat music choreographed by Jan Ulics, our teacher. Classes meet for 1 hour. Club Membership Fee: $10 every year starting January 1 through December. You may join the club at any time during the year. King’s Point residents are welcome with a CA Activities Card. Club Member Class Fees: $1.00 for every class you attend or pay $5.00 per month of Mondays and Fridays. Wednesdays are alway $1.00. 1:00 p.m. - Qigong classes at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church instructed by Daline Dudley, M.Ed., M.S.W. certified through the National Qigong Association. Classes will be held at the church. A $5.00 donation for each class is suggested. Qigong is effective in helping heal life challenges including high blood pressure and chronic illness due to emotional stress among other things. The classes are a combination of slow, gentle movements with deep breathing techniques. The movements can be done standing or seated. Comfortable clothing and a water bottle are a plus. 11:00 a.m. DISTRIBUTION OF BACKPACKS FOR THE HOMELESS - A new ongoing, exciting project at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1239 Del Webb W Sun City Center, Fl. 33573 under the direction of Dean Metcalf and the Evangelism Committee, is the collection and distribution of backpacks for the homeless in the Sun City Center and Ruskin area. Backpacks are being equipped with toiletries, knitted hats by members of the church, new blankets, and other new items. So far about 50 backpacks have been filled. Along with these packs an invitation will be given to each person to attend the free luncheons every Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. for a delicious meal prepared by the Metropolitan Ministries. Atrium II Dance Studio (in the North Campus in a separate building) We strongly encourage our Club members to take advantage of this time and space to improve their dancing skills. The monitor provides all types of dance music for the practice. It’s a great time to relax with your dance partner and improve your steps and techniques.
